Trai to finalise views on turnover-linked penalty, satcom back reference soon

NEW DELHI: India’s telecom regulator will share clarifications on the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) back reference on satellite spectrum allocation, and turnover-linked penalty of upto 1% on telecom carriers this month, a senior official said.

“The back reference sent by them (DoT) is under examination. We’ll give our recommendations on what they have asked for, including a pricing revisit. We’ll put that in public domain sometime soon this month,” a regulatory official on conditions of anonymity told ETTelecom.
