Smartphones turn dearer as memory chip prices surge
New Delhi: Smartphone memory prices saw yet another sharp spike in November, leading to another round of price increases by brands. Contract prices of both storage and memory modules are set to go up further in December and remain firm throughout 2026, affecting demand, analysts said.
Among them, storage modules saw the steepest increase in prices, ranging from 20-60% month-on-month across product categories and storage densities, due to capacity migration for high-margin enterprise orders, reported Trendforce.
