Apple may have just told Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta, we are no less in hiring, as iPhone maker hires Facebook’s ‘most important executive’ during company’s fight with the US government

Apple has landed one of Meta’s most crucial executives, brinigng in chief legal officer Jennifer Newstead just weeks after she secured a landmark antitrust victory against the Federal Trade Commission. The hire marks a significant reversal in the talent war between the two tech giants, with Apple demonstrating it can compete for top-tier leadership even as Meta continues raiding its engineering and design ranks.

Newstead will join Apple in January as senior vice president before assuming the general counsel role on March 1, 2026, replacing Kate Adams, who is retiring after nearly eight years as Apple’s top lawyer.
