Nvidia, SoftBank-backed startup Runway launches AI video model, claims it beats Google and ChatGPT-maker OpenAI
Artificial intelligence (AI) startup Runway has launched its Gen 4.5 model, claiming that its video generation capabilities outperform rival models from industry giants Google and OpenAI in an independent benchmark. Runway, a company that specialises in AI video research and modeling and is backed by SoftBank, says its new model allows users to generate high-definition videos from written prompts, demonstrating a superior grasp of physics, human motion, camera movements and cause-and-effect sequences.
According to a report by CNBC, the startup cites independent AI benchmarking and analysis company Artificial Analysis for its bold claim, saying Gen 4.5 immediately secured the top spot on the company’s Video Arena leaderboard.
