India’s telecom subscriber additions halve in October; Jio leads: TRAI
Telecom firms added 2.44 million telephone subscribers in October 2025, down 45% from 4.40 million in September, as urban mobile subscribers declined for the first time in recent months, data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India showed on Thursday
Monthly growth declined to 0.20% in October from 0.36% in September. Urban mobile subscribers fell by 180,000 to 639.99 million in October after rising 1.68 million in September and 1.68 million in August, marking the first contraction in the segment.
