Google co-founder Larry Page becomes second richest person in the world, Sergey Brin overtakes Jeff Bezos

Google-parent company Alphabet’s sudden rise in stock has triggered a major shakeup in the world’s richest rankings. Google co-founder Larry Page is now the second-richest person globally after leapfrogging Oracle co-founder and CTO, Larry Ellison. Notably, Google co-founder, Sergey Brin, has also moved up, overtaking Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, according to Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List. The surge in wealth saw Page’s net worth increase by $8.7 billion on Monday (November 24) even as investors are optimistic for Alphabet’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud business.

Page’s fortune is now estimated at $264.9 billion, moving him past Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison ($247.4 billion), whose net worth has declined following a steep drop in Oracle’s share price.
