India’s healthcare sector is experiencing an unprecedented artificial intelligence (AI) revolution, driven by the convergence of technological capability, policy support, and an urgent need to serve 1.4 billion people with limited infrastructure. IndiaAI.gov.in, the Government of India’s AI initiative, estimates the Indian AI healthcare market will reach USD 1.6 billion by 2025 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 40.6 per cent, propelled by digital health infrastructure programmes such as Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and growing AI-enabled remote care solutions.
