DoT delicenses 77-81GHz frequency range for short-range radars used for automobile ADAS

NEW DELHI: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on Wednesday delicensed spectrum in the 77-81GHz frequency band for short-range vehicle radar systems, which are widely used in the automobile Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) systems.

The move is expected to boost the process of development of autonomous vehicles in India, and improve their adoption among consumers.
