At Microsoft Ignite 2025, Microsoft announced Agent 365, a new platform designed to help companies manage and govern the increasing deployment and usage of AI agents. As AI agents are already automating tasks and accelerating productivity across industries, the anticipated multiplication and sophistication of these agents pose a challenge for businesses to manage and govern them responsibly and at scale. The software giant suggests the practical approach to this new challenge is to manage agents using infrastructure, apps and protections similar to those currently used to manage employees and power business operations. Agent 365 will serve as a control plane for AI agents, enabling organisations to deploy, organise, and govern their agents securely.
