After big strides in AI, hardware next frontier for India, say experts

Artificial intelligence (AI) has seen rapid advancement in India over the past decade, resulting in a wide range of applications across land, air, and marine domains. However, India continues to remain predominantly software-driven, and it is crucial to place greater emphasis on hardware and component manufacturing in the years ahead, said Sridhar Subramanya, CEO of Outdo Mediatech, on Tuesday.

He was speaking at a panel discussion on ‘Artificial Intelligence: Emerging Technologies and Strategic Growth,’ held at the Bengaluru Tech Summit, 2025, which saw participation from several leading innovators in the sector.
