Consent-based data sharing among telcos for mobile number portability: Trai

Mumbai: Trai on Monday reiterated its call for a consent-based data sharing and validation framework among telecom operators for mobile number portability (MNP).

In a press release, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), said that this was in response to a back-reference by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) dated August 29, which sought a review of the recommendations issued by the watchdog in 2022 on enabling telecom subscribers to share their KYC (know-your-customer) data during MNP.
