After Google, Ambani’s Reliance to set up 1 GW data centre in Andhra Pradesh
Reliance Industries will establish a 1 GW AI data centre in Andhra Pradesh. This is the second big-ticket investment commitment from a major corporate player after Google announced a 1 GW data centre cluster in Vizag with a $ 15 billion investment over five years.
The fully modular data centre will host graphic processing units, tensor processing units and AI processors. It will be a twin to Reliance Industries’ data centre at Jamnagar. Last month, Andhra Pradesh had inked a deal with Google for a data centre cluster. In an interview to ET, Andhra Pradesh IT and electronics minister Nara Lokesh had said the state aims to set up data centres with 6 GW capacity.
