Govt begins work on relief package for Vodafone Idea after SC ruling

The government has initiated the process of preparing a relief package for Vodafone Idea (Vi) following the Supreme Court’s recent verdict in the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) case, reported Times of India. The move aims to address the telecom operator’s massive dues of over ₹83,000 crore, which have long strained its finances.

According to top government sources to TOI, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has begun seeking legal advice on possible next steps. Once that is secured, the department plans to direct all field units across the country’s telecom circles to review the original AGR demand notices for potential calculation errors or duplications in billing.
