Indian Consulate in the UAE have confirmed this in a press conference recently that the transition to this next-generation passport will be completely seamless for applicants. Importantly, there will be no change in passport fees, no additional biometric requirements, and no modifications in the existing application process. This is a significant help for the Indian community living there and was confused about the E-Passport technicalities.
