India’s 5G smartphone shipments rise 16% on-year in Q3 2025: CMR

NEW DELHI: Fifth-generation or 5G-enabled smartphones accounted for 89% of the overall shipments in the July-September quarter of 2025, as handset makers launched mass-market devices, according to the latest CyberMedia Research (CMR) report released on Friday.
“5G smartphones accounted for 89% of total shipments in the quarter, up 16% year-on-year. Interestingly, 5G smartphones in the ₹6,000-10,000 price band surged over 1600% year-on-year, underscoring rising demand for affordable 5G, the research firm said.
