NEW DELHI: The US-based IT and enterprise services company IBM will cut roles in the fourth quarter, which may potentially impact thousands of employees, as it shifts its focus to its high-margin software segment to ride on the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI)-linked cloud infrastructure.
“We routinely review our workforce…and at times rebalance accordingly,” the company said in a statement, according to news agency Reuters. “In the fourth quarter, we are executing an action that will impact a low single-digit percentage of our global workforce.”
