Vodafone Idea breaks 21-month losing streak with first active subscriber gain

MUMBAI: Vodafone Idea has posted its first active subscriber increase in nearly two years, breaking a 21-month decline streak ,according to analysis from Jefferies released Monday.

VIL’s active subscriber base grew by around 20,000 connections in September 2025 after India’s third-largest mobile operator had been losing an average of 1.7 million subscribers monthly throughout 2024.

VIL’s monthly subscriber losses have moderated significantly to an average of 600,000 in 2025 ,a 65% improvement from the previous year’s bleeding rate, the report said.
