Broadcasters, distribution platform operators divided over new audit rules
Mumbai: Changes that the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has proposed in the broadcast audit rules have reignited a long-standing tussle between broadcasters and distribution platform operators (DPOs) over audit rights, confidentiality and regulatory oversight.
Audit Framework
The proposed amendments aim to make the audit framework more structured and transparent, and to reduce disputes between broadcasters and distributors. However, both sides have raised concerns about some key provisions and their implementation.
