Another Apple exec joins Meta’s AI team, just weeks after promotion
In a fresh blow to Apple’s artificial intelligence plans, Ke Yang, a recently promoted executive assigned with leading the company’s AI-driven web search initiate has left the company to join Meta’a AI team. As reported by Bloomberg, Yang has joined Meta after quitting Apple. Yang’s departure from Apple comes just weeks after being appointed as the head of Apple’s Answers, Knowledge and Information (AKI) team, a group central to the upcoming overhaul of the Siri voice assistant.
Yang had been with Apple since 2019 and was tapped to spearhead the efforts of the company to make Siri more competitive with generative AI platforms like ChatGPT, features that tap into personal data for more complex user requests.
