Trump’s $100,000 H-1B visa fee hike could hit rural schools, challenge universities
While it is well known that President Donald Trump’s H-1B visa fee increase will affect United States tech companies, its impact could also be felt across the nation’s education system. Several higher education leaders and public-school superintendents told the New York Times that the H-1B visa fee increase could negatively impact crucial teaching positions, including math and special education teachers.
The fee hike may also impact the education system in the rural parts of the country who rely on immigrants to fill vacancies in skilled professions like education and health care.
