US Senators Charles Grassley and Richard J. Durbin recently sent a formal letter to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) CEO Krithi Krithivasan, questioning the company’s decision to hire thousands of H-1B visa workers while simultaneously conducting “massive layoffs” globally. The letter, dated September 24, 2025, raises concerns about “troubling employment trends” in the tech industry.

The Senators confronted the Indian IT firm, stating that while it has announced plans to lay off 12,000 employees worldwide, “you have been filing H-1B visa petitions for thousands of foreign workers.”
