BSNL surpasses Airtel in August subscriber additions, Vodafone Idea continues to lose users: TRAI

New Delhi: Reliance Jio added the maximum number of wireless subscribers in August with state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) pipping Bharti Airtel to secure the second spot while Vodafone Idea (Vi) continued its cede ground.

Jio, the country’s largest operator, added 1.95 million subscribers during the month followed by BSNL at 1.38 million and Airtel at 496,087 while Vi lost 308,984 users, showed data issued by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai).
