NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea (Vi) has increased retailer commissions in a bid to boost its market presence and win back customers amid intense competition in India’s telecom sector.
The telco, a joint venture between the UK’s Vodafone Group PLC and India’s Aditya Birla Group, launched 5G services in 22 cities in March.
Vi is providing 3% commissions for recharges and new SIM activations, compared with 1% by Jio and 2% by Airtel, according to distributors and partners.
