French games giant Ubisoft said Wednesday that a long-trailed reorganisation would begin with the launch of Chinese-backed subsidiary Vantage Studios, which will helm its blockbuster franchises like “Assassin’s Creed”.
The new unit, created in March with a 1.16 billion-euro ($1.4 billion) investment from Chinese internet giant TenCent, “will have full autonomy on the creative direction and business plans” for money-spinners “Assassin’s Creed”, “Far Cry” and “Rainbow Six”, Ubisoft told AFP.
