Nokia snaps up HPE-owned Juniper’s RIC & SMO business

NEW DELHI: Nokia has acquired Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE)-owned Juniper Networks’ RIC and SMO (service management orchestration) business, as the Finnish telecom gear maker seeks to strengthen its positioning in artificial intelligence (AI)-driven mobile networks.

“I’m thrilled to share that our RIC & SMO team and I will be joining Nokia on October 1, 2025!” Constantine Polychronopoulos, group vice president (GVP) for 5G and telco cloud at Juniper Networks, said in an update on LinkedIn on Wednesday.
