Elon Musk’s xAI sues OpenAI alleging trade secret theft: ‘By hook or by crook, OpenAI clearly will do anything…’

Elon Musk-owned AI software company, xAI has filed a lawsuit against Sam Altman-led OpenAI, accusing it of stealing its trade secrets. The lawsuit, filed in a federal court in California, says that OpenAI was engaged in a “deeply troubling pattern” of hiring away former xAI employees to gain access to trade secrets. It further accuses OpenAI of pursuing unfair advantage in the AI race. In the lawsuit, xAI names four former engineers – Xuechen Li who is involved in a separate trade secrets lawsuit, Jimmy Fraiture and a senior finance executive.
