After Microsoft, Amazon issues deadline for its Indian and foreign employees: Return to US before Trump’s $100,000 Fee takes effect

Amazon has advised its employees with H-1B and H-4 visas to avoid international travel for the foreseeable future. As per a company note reviewed by news agency Reuters, the e-tailer has recommended Indian and other foreign employees currently outside the country to return back before midnight EDT on September 21. The move comes after Trump signed an executive order introducing a $100,000 annual fee for H-1B visa.

“If you have H-1B status and are in the US, stay in the country for now,” Amazon’s note reads. It further adds that Amazon “recommends H-1B and H-4 visa holders to return to the US before 12:00 am EDT Sept 21.”
