Panasonic is eyeing white goods PLI, all-new India plant

Panasonic is considering a new manufacturing unit in India, gearing up to participate in the reopened window for the white goods’ production-linked incentive scheme as it prepares to utilise the long-term potential of the country’s market, Tadashi Chiba, MD and CEO of Panasonic Life Solutions India, told ET.

The expansion plans are in alignment with Panasonic’s aim to shift more operations from being Japan-led to India-led. “Many of our Indian teams are already providing global services, and we want to strengthen this model further,” Chiba said.
