    US-China TikTok deal: Laws compliance, Congress approval, and challenges. Explained

    A framework agreement that will allow the ByteDance-owned TikTok app to continue functioning in the United States was announced on September 16, though many questions remain regarding its specifics.

    Following trade talks in Madrid, US and Chinese officials announced the deal, saying that China had agreed to transfer ownership of the video-sharing platform to a US company, but did not share specifics, Reuters reported.
