STT GDC India seeks streamlined regulations, EoDB in upcoming draft data centre policy
NEW DELHI: STT GDC India said the upcoming draft data centre policy should streamline and reduce regulations in the domestic industry in order to improve the ease-of-doing-business (EoDB), particularly as an exponential rise in artificial intelligence (AI) adoption is fueling capacity expansion and consumption of utilities.
“There are compliances that need to be fulfilled before taking the capacity live. And even after that, the data centre operators continuously need approvals and have to comply with multiple regulations. There has to be a mechanism and ways to reduce the overall regulatory framework around it,” Bimal Khandelwal, chief executive officer (CEO), STT GDC India, told ETTelecom in an interview.
