Facebook parent Meta may partner with Google or Microsoft-backed OpenAI for AI features

Facebook parent company Meta is reportedly in discussions with tech rivals Google and ChatGPt-maker OpenAI to integrate their advanced AI models into its own applications. According to a report from The Information (via news agency Reuters), this strategic move suggests that the company’s newly formed Superintelligence Lab is looking to quickly enhance its AI offerings while it develops its own next-generation models.

Sources familiar with the conversations told The Information that leaders at Meta Superintelligence Labs have explored using Google’s Gemini model to power conversational, text-based responses for Meta AI, the company’s primary chatbot.
