Satcom cos seek licence fee, SUC & bank guarantee relief

India’s space and satellite companies have called on the government to reduce licence fees and spectrum usage charges (SUC) for satcom services, and ease bank guarantee requirements for spectrum acquired before 2021.

The Indian Space Association (ISpA) has also called for delinking these levies from the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) in its recommendations to the telecom department on the Draft National Telecom Policy (NTP) 2025 on Thursday.
