Winzo enters US market, adds short-video format amid real money gaming ban
Indian gaming platform Winzo has entered the United States, its first foray into the market as it looks to expand globally. The move comes at a time when India’s new Online Gaming Bill has imposed a blanket ban on real money gaming, forcing several platforms to shut down money-based offerings.
Winzo, which invested $25 million to enter Brazil in 2023, said its Indian-developed games and distribution model could gain traction in one of the world’s most mature mobile gaming markets. India, while the largest market by users, contributes less than 1% to the global gaming industry, the company noted.
