After OpenAI, Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta signs $10 billion cloud deal with Google

Facebook-parent Meta Platforms has signed a six-year cloud computing agreement with Google worth over $10 billion. According to a report by the news agency Reuters, this is Google’s second major cloud deal with another major tech company, following a recent agreement with OpenAI. Under the new arrangement, Meta will utilise Google Cloud’s servers, storage, networking, and other services. The deal was confirmed by a source familiar with the confidential discussions, the report notes. Last month, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said he was “excited” about a new partnership under which the search giant is providing cloud computing resources to Microsoft-backed AI startup OpenAI, which is also a rival in the AI sector.
