BSNL joins Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea, soft launches eSIM services in Tamil Nadu circle

NEW DELHI: State-controlled telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Friday soft-launched its eSIM services in the Tamil Nadu circle, joining the league of its private sector rivals Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea (Vi) that already commercially offer these services nationwide.

BSNL said the eSIM service will enable customers to activate mobile connections without a physical SIM on compatible smartphones and wearables, adding that it will be rolled out nationwide in a phased manner.
