Link Aadhaar with voter ID to end fraud: Kumaraswamy tells Election Commission

Bengaluru: Decrying a “flood of lies” against the Election Commission, Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Friday called for linking Aadhaar with Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC), which he said is a “clear remedy” to end voter fraud.

Kumaraswamy, a two-time chief minister of Karnataka, represents the JD(S), which is the BJP’s alliance partner.

“A flood of lies against the Election Commission is a calculated conspiracy to strangle democracy. A sinister attempt to poison the spirit of Amrit Kaal, driven by those seeking political mileage through baseless allegations against constitutional institutions,” Kumaraswamy said, referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s “vote theft” charge.
