Minimal Impact Expected from Trump’s 100% Tariff Plan

US President Donald Trump recently announced a 100% tariff on semiconductor imports, exempting companies manufacturing within the U.S. or committing to do so. While SMIC is not currently discussing this with customers, Zhao believes the impact will be limited due to contingency measures taken since the initial announcement in April.
