Trump tariff bite unlikely to spoil Apple harvest in India as desi iPhone plan holds firm: Report
Apple’s suppliers are going ahead with their plans to mass-produce the next iPhone in India, expecting that the device will be excluded from the 50% tariff announced by US President Donald Trump, Nikkei Asia reported citing unamed sources.
Three people familiar with the matter told Nikkei Asia that Apple suppliers believe products made in India — where Apple has been expanding its supply base due to tensions between the US and China — will be exempt from the high import duty that Trump declared for India on Wednesday.
