MeitY keeping a watch as TCS announces 12,000 lay-off plan

New Delhi: With the Tata Consultancy Services’ (TCS) decision to lay off over 12,000 employees, a top official in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)on Monday said that the government is keeping a close watch on the developments and is in touch with the company.

The ministry is concerned and will go into why it is happening to understand the underlying causes, said an official.
