YouTube channel moves HC over trial court’s gag order on Dharmasthala coverage
A YouTube channel on Friday moved the Karnataka High Court, challenging a trial court’s ex parte interim order restraining media platforms from publishing any “defamatory content” against the family members running the Sri Manjunathaswamy temple in Dharmasthala, a temple town in the Dakshina Kannada district.
Justice M Nagaprasanna asked the petitioner to take the matter before the jurisdictional court. The YouTube channel challenged the trial court’s order passed last week, insisting that it violated its rights.
