Tata Communications to build AI-ready NLD network for AWS in India; capital investment at ₹430 cr

NEW DELHI: Tata Communications has won a deal from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deploy a high-capacity, long-distance network to connect three major AWS infrastructure locations in India to bolster generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) adoption and cloud innovation.

The network will have a capacity of nearly 7.2 terabyte per second (Tbps), and a cable length of 18,000 km. It will entail a capital investment of approximately ₹430 crore, Tata Communications said in a regulatory filing Tuesday.
