Mobile Number Validation

On June 24, 2025, the ministry of communications has released the draft of the Telecommunications (Telecom Cyber Security) Amendment Rules, 2025, seeking public comments before finalisation. These proposed amendments aim to strengthen India’s cyber security architecture in the telecom sector through greater oversight, structured validation mechanisms and enhanced accountability for the use of telecommunication identifiers. Issued under the powers conferred by the Telecommunications Act, 2023, these draft rules are set to amend the principal 2024 rules and are open for stakeholder suggestions for thirty days from publication.
