Microsoft has issued an alert about “active attacks” on server software used by government agencies and businesses to share documents within organisations. The tech giant has security updates that customers should apply immediately.

On Sunday, the FBI said it is aware of the attacks and is working closely with its federal and private sector partners, but offered no other details. “The FBI is aware of the matter, and we are working closely with our federal government and private sector partners,” the bureau said in a statement.
