What is superintelligence, and who’s in the race to build it?
Back in September 2024, before ‘superintelligence’ became a buzzword, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman had said that humans would soon be able to do things that would have seemed like “magic to our grandparents”.
The “magic” he was referring to would be possible because of something called superintelligence, which he said might emerge in a “few thousand days”.
