Trai seeks views

Trai has released a consultation paper on the assignment of spectrum across several bands, including the lower 6 GHz, 7 GHz, 13 GHz, 15 GHz, 18 GHz, 21 GHz, E-Band and V-Band. Stakeholders have been invited to respond regarding demand, assignment terms and applicable charges – particularly for the E and V bands, which are critical for high-throughput 5G backhaul.

The bands under consultation are currently used for microwave backhaul between telecom towers, including the E and V bands. Notably, the E and V bands are of special interest due to their ability to provide high-capacity backhaul for data-heavy 5G networks.
