NHRC registers case on Sakshi TV for misogynistic remarks

VIJAYAWADA: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has registered a case against Sakshi TV following a complaint from TDP MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu.

On June 8, MP Devarayalu submitted a petition urging the NHRC to take suo motu cognisance and initiate action against Sakshi TV. He alleged that the channel aired content that insulted women, referring to them as belonging to the ‘capital of prostitutes’.
