Elon Musk’s Starlink gets licence to launch satellite internet service in India: Report

Elon Musk-owned Starlink has reportedly got licence for satcom services in India. According to an IANS report, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued the Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite (GMPCS) permit to the US company. With this, Starlink has become the third company to secure the licence to offer its commercial services in the country after Eutelsat’s OneWeb and Jio-SES. As per the report, Starlink may start its commercial services later this year or next year.
