Amazon moves Delhi HC after fined Rs 340 crore to Beverly Hills Polo Club’s for trademark infringement
Amazon Technologies Inc has approached the division bench of the Delhi High Court to contest a single judge’s order directing the US e-commerce giant to pay Rs 340 crore in damages to Lifestyle Equities C.V. and Lifestyle Licensing B.V. for infringing their registered trademark ‘Beverly Hills Polo Club,’ according to a report by the Economic Times.
The division bench, led by Justice Hari Shankar, reportedly scheduled the next hearing for Wednesday (May 7). Amazon argued that the Lifestyle companies, which claimed “extensive goodwill and recognition” for their trademark, failed to provide evidence of infringement before the single judge. The company emphasized that the case warrants a detailed review by the division bench, as per the Economic Times.
