Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme

The union cabinet has approved the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme with a substantial outlay of Rs 22,919 crore. This initiative aims to fortify the nation’s self-reliance in the electronics supply chain and is projected to attract investments amounting to Rs 59,350 crore. The scheme is expected to generate production worth Rs 456,500 crore and create 91,600 direct employment opportunities over its six-year tenure.
The scheme seeks to enhance domestic value addition (DVA) by building capacity and capabilities, thereby integrating Indian companies into global value chains (GVCs). The scheme encompasses sub-assemblies such as display and camera modules, as well as essential components.
