Oscars ‘ok’ the use of AI, with caveats

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has updated Oscar rules to state that generative AI and digital tools “neither help nor harm” a film’s nomination chances, but achievements will be judged on human creative input. Members must now watch all nominated films before voting. Mandatory AI use disclosure is being considered for future awards.
